Company Update

Wow! What a fantastic year it’s been here at Transport 29! As we dive into the next financial year, we’re taking a moment to look back at the amazing growth and development Transport 29 has experienced over the past 12 months.

First & foremost, we’re thrilled to continue delivering a top-notch service to our customers across the UK – from wheelbarrows, to gates, machinery & hot tubs… we’ve moved it all this year! The influx of new customers and increased volumes has meant the team has been hard at work developing and implementing new working practices, to ensure we maintain service levels, and response times.

Our revenue skyrocketed, with an impressive 155% growth year-on-year, far exceeding market growth. That success has allowed us to continue to reinvest money into making our processes more efficient and customer-centric. As an SME (Small & Medium size Enterprise), it’s important for us to ensure that whatever level we’re operating, customer service is always our main priority.

Some key investments we’ve made include an upgraded TMS (Transport Management System) which delivers more accurate ETAs and better vehicle tracking, allowing us to manage loads more effectively. This translates to better and faster response to queries regarding collection & delivery times. In addition to this, we now have a better overview of every job in progress, making managing loads faster and simpler. This in turn allows us to stay ahead of any potential issues that may arise, with advanced tracking which flags any vehicles which have fallen behind schedule, giving us space to manage customer expectations, and resolve issues in a timely manner. Our new industry-leading VOIP system has also given our team greater flexibility to work remotely.

A significant shift in our operations occurred at the start of the last financial year when we retired our ageing fleet. This decision was driven by customer demands for same day van services in areas like London, within the hour – something our North Shropshire hub just couldn't fulfil due to lead times and empty mileage costs. Instead, we now work with a network of reliable self-employed drivers and operators across the UK. This change not only enables us to maximise vehicle capacity and efficiency, but also means better rates to our customers!

Hitting the milestone of our 2000th load was another proud moment for the team, and we’re already well on our way to hitting our 3000th!

Beyond business, Transport 29 continues its partnership with grassroots sports in the local community, as sponsors of Whitchurch Rugby Club, a local amateur rugby union club, formed in 1936. Investing in local projects is an important value for Transport 29, with both directors Jordan & Harry having grown up in North Shropshire.

It may have been a record-breaking, whirlwind year for Transport 29, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be taking our foot off the gas. In the coming 12 months, we look ahead to taking on more new business, and further honing our processes to maintain service levels. We’ll be reviewing staffing budgets, and may look at expanding the team, if targets are met.

To all our customers, thank you for placing your trust in us, and allowing us to deliver excellence on your behalf.
